2014-15 UWEC Athletes of the Week - Week 27 (March 16-22)

Softball

Pitcher:  Laura Raflik, 5-6, Senior, Plover, WI/Pacelli
Raflik went 2-1 while facing two top-ten ranked teams in the in the Nationl Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) NCAA Division National Poll.  In a 6-1 victory over 10th-ranked Central (IA) Raflik pitched all seven innings allowing no earned runs and just two hits against the Dutch.  Raflik struck out five batters allowing just two walks in the win.  In a 3-1 loss at sixth-ranked Illinois Wesleyan Raflik pitched six innings allowing two earned runs on nine hits.  In following day Raflik pitched 3.1 innings in relief earning a 14-8 victory at Millikin (IL).  Raflik allowed three earned runs on five hits while striking out one batter.  In her last three games Raflik has an earned-run average of 2.76 allowing five earned runs in 16.1 innings.  Raflik allowed 16 hits while striking out six batters against just two walks.

Position:  Kenzie Winning, Infielder, 5-6, Sophomore, Waupun, WI
Winning has played well at the plate for the Blugolds throughout their last six games.  In a 6-1 victory over Central (IA) on March 7 Winning had one hit but it was a game-winning grand slam that gave the Blugolds against the 10th-ranked Dutch.  In a double header at Millikin (IL) on March 20 Winning was went five-for-eight from the plate as the Blugolds swept the Big Blue.  Winning hit a home run and a double against Millikin adding two run-batted.  In her last six games Winning has a batting average of .421 including an on-base percentage of .421 and a slugging percentage of .789.  During that stretch Winning has collected eight hits, six runs-batted in, scored five runs, hit two home runs, stole two bases and hit one double.
