Blugolds Rank 11th in Learfield Directors' Cup Standings

CLEVELAND, Ohio (Blugolds.com) – After earning its first NCAA Division III Indoor Men’s Indoor Track and Field Championship in school history, the UW-Eau Claire Department of Athletics currently ranks 11th out of 246 schools in the most recent Division III Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup standings released by Assistant Executive Director Julie Work.

The Blugolds have earned a total of 336.50 points combined in the fall and winter season.  Eau Claire scored 129 points in the fall and 207.50 points during the winter season.  Johns Hopkins is the overall leader with a total of 450 points.  UW-Whitewater ranks second with 421.75 points while UW-La Crosse ranks third with 408.50 points.

The final Division III winter standings will be released Thursday, April 2.

The Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today.  Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 18 sports -- nine women’s and nine men’s.
