Men’s Hockey
Brandon Wahlin, Forward, 5-8, 168, Sophomore, White Bear
Lake, MN
Wahlin added his name to the school record book this weekend
as the Blugolds went 2-0 in two non-conference games. In a
4-0 victory over the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) Wahlin
assisted on the first two Blugold goals of the night including the
eventual game-winning goal. In an 11-2 victory over Lawrence
University (Wis.) Wahlin led all scorers with five points scoring
three goals and two assists. All three Wahlin goals came off
Blugold power plays and tied a school record most recently
accomplished by Mike Litner against UW-Stevens Point on December 6,
1991. Wahlin was one point and one goal shy of tying Blugolds
single game records for points and goals scored in a single
game. Wahlin scored three of six Blugold power play goals
scored against the Vikings. It was the most goals scored by
the Blugolds in a single game since a 12-4 victory over Concordia
(Wis.) on November 24, 2012. In two games Wahlin scored seven
points on three goals and four assists over two games.
