EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - Two UW-Eau Claire Athletics teams were in action today, women's volleyball and women's soccer, both at home against UW-Stout.

Women's Soccer

UW-Eau Claire 1, UW-Stout 0

It is the start of a new tradition that saw a common result as the women's soccer team defeated UW-Stout 1-0 here today at Bollinger Field in the battle for Paul Bunyan's Ax. Forward Caroline Henderson scored the game's lone goal at 33:32 assisted by midfielder Teighlor Tvedt. Stout outshot Eau Claire 16-12 including an 11-4 advantage in the second half.

Women's Volleyball

UW-Eau Claire 3, UW-Stout 0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-20)

Playing in Zorn Arena on the Blugolds' Cancer Awareness Night, the women's volleyball team took down UW-Stout 3-0. The Blugolds won the first set 25-20, then followed with a 25-19 victory and claimed the match after winning 25-20 in the final set. Leading Eau Claire with 11 kills, which tied a match-high, was Katrina Raskie.
