Blugold student-athletes will be collecting donations on Halloween from 3-7 p.m., in downtown Eau Claire 3-5 p.m. and in the residential areas 5:30-7 p.m. All donations will be sent to UNICEF, which helps give countless children around the world clean water, nutrition, medicine and education.

“The UW-Eau Claire Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and our student-athletes work hard each year to give back and this is an activity which will benefit individuals around the world,” SAAC advisor Andy Jepsen said.

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is comprised of two members from each of the 20 intercollegiate varsity teams plus the athletic training students at UW-Eau Claire. The committee members discuss the concerns and ideas that the student-athletes have about the UW-Eau Claire athletics program and work to make improvements. The group also coordinates a variety of community service projects in which all teams participate.

UNICEF is a United Nations Program headquartered in New York City, which provides long-term humanitarian and developmental assistance to children and mothers in developing countries.
