EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - Two UW-Eau Claire Athletics teams were in action today, softball and women's golf both on the road at Illinois Wesleyan.

Illinois Wesleyan Spring Fling - 9th of 19

The women's golf team opened its spring schedule this weekend, taking ninth place out of 19 teams at the Illinois Wesleyan Spring Fling at Ironwood Golf Course. The Blugolds came in ninth with 680 strokes. Kate Engler led the Blugolds as she came in 13^th place with 160 strokes.

The second day of the Illinois Wesleyan Tournament did not go as well as the first day for the softball team. After picking up a pair of wins against the 25^th and 21^st-ranked teams in the nation, they were in for two more tough tests on Sunday. In a rematch with Washington University (Mo.), the Blugolds fell 4-2 in the first game of the day and against 19^th-ranked host Illinois Wesleyan, they fell 6-0 in the second game of the day.
