EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - Two UW-Eau Claire Athletics teams were in action today, men's tennis at home and softball at UW-Platteville.
Softball

The softball team opened conference play yesterday, but it was not the start they were looking for. UW-La Crosse handed the Blugolds a 5-4 loss and a 5-3 loss in the doubleheader. Sunday, the Blugolds had a chance to get back on track in WIAC play with a doubleheader against UW-Platteville. UW-Eau Claire took care of business with a 13-7 win in game one and a 13-3 win in game two to pick up the sweep.
Men's Tennis
St. Cloud State (Minn.) 7, UW-Eau Claire 2
Competing at home, the men's tennis team fell short to NCAA Division II opponent St. Cloud State University (Minn.) 7-2 today. Eau Claire had one doubles victory and one singles victory.
