EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - Four UW-Eau Claire Athletics teams were in action today, all competing on the road.

Wrestling

WIAC Championship
UW-Oshkosh 31, UW-Eau Claire 18
UW-Platteville 31, UW-Eau Claire 18

The wrestling team finished in sixth place at the 2014 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championship, hosted by UW-La Crosse, today. Three Blugolds were undefeated for the day - Nathaniel Behnke (141 pounds), Ryan Seidler (149 pounds) and Luke Ortscheid (197 pounds).

Men's Tennis

Gustavus Adolphus (Minn.) 7, UW-Eau Claire 2
UW-Eau Claire 9, Hamline University (Minn.) 0

The men's tennis team split wins in Minnesota, opening the day with a 7-2 loss to Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) before bouncing back with a 9-0 win over Hamline University (Minn.) at the Swanson Tennis Center at Gustavus Adolphus today. Will Weyenberg won both of his No. 6 singles matches while Ryan Vande Linde and Joe Meier won both of their No. 1 doubles matches.

Women's Hockey

UW-River Falls 5, UW-Eau Claire 1

With just two games remaining in the regular season, the women's hockey team is still searching for their first WIAC win. With both games remaining against UW-River Falls, that task would not be easy. That proved to be the case Saturday afternoon with the Blugolds falling to the Falcons on the road, 5-1. River Falls got out to a 4-0 lead by early in the third period and the Blugolds scored one goal with less than seven minutes left. River Falls added one more goal with three minutes remaining and outshot the Blugolds 46-14.

Men's Hockey

UW-Stevens Point 2, UW-Eau Claire 1 (OT)

Coming off a 6-1 loss to fourth-ranked UW-Stevens Point last night, the third-ranked UW-Eau Claire men’s hockey team looked to turn things around tonight. But an overtime goal by the Pointers handed the Blugolds a 2-1 loss, giving Stevens Point a sweep of the Blugolds this season. The Pointers scored in the first period while the Blugolds answered in the second on a power-play. The Pointer goal in overtime came at 2:34. Eau Claire finished the game outshooting Stevens Point 31-26.
