EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - Five UW-Eau Claire Athletics teams were in action today, two at home and three on the road.

Men's Hockey

UW-Eau Claire 8, UW-River Falls 3

After breaking the NCAA Division III record for consecutive shutouts last Saturday with five, the men's hockey team broke another Division III record tonight for consecutive shutout minutes. The Blugolds needed to hold the Falcons scoreless for just 17 minutes and 53 seconds to break the record and did just that, not allowing River Falls to score until 14:58 into the second period. Eau Claire now holds the record with 354 minutes, 25 seconds without allowing a goal. The win tonight was Eau Claire's seventh straight and first WIAC victory of the season. The Blugolds scored one goal in the first period, two in the second and five in the third. Both teams finished with 38 shots.

Women's Gymnastics

UW-Eau Claire 182.225, Hamline (Minn.) 177.325

The women's gymnastics team won four events to defeat Hamline University (Minn.) 182.225-177.325 in the McPhee Physical Education Center tonight. Four different Blugolds secured event victories.

Women's Hockey

UW-Superior 5, UW-Eau Claire 0

The women's hockey team had a tough time against eighth-ranked UW-Superior tonight, falling 5-0 at Wessman Arena. Superior scored two power-play goals and one short-handed goal as they outshot the Blugolds 46-18. Emily Larson led Eau Claire with seven shots and Paige Turner stoped 41 Yellowjacket shots.

Men's & Women's Indoor Track & Field

Prairie Wolf Indoor Invitational - No Team Scores

The Blugolds won two events while coming away with two other top-three finishes. Thurgood Dennis won the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.74 seconds while the men's 4x400-meter relay also took first with a time of 3:18.59. Brandon Zarnoth took second in the long jump and Cody Prince was third in the 400-meter dash. The top women's finish came in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:00.39.
