EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire men's and women's hockey teams were in action today with the men at home and the women on the road.
Women's Hockey
Saint Mary's (Minn.) 3, UW-Eau Claire 0
The women's hockey team was unable to find the back of the net as the Blugolds fell 3-0 at Saint Mary's University (Minn.) today. The two teams went scoreless through the first two periods as the Cardinals outshot the Blugolds 35-16. All three goals by the Cardinals came in the third period. Paige Turner played the entire game in-goal for the Blugolds and stopped 49 out of 52 shots. The Blugolds finished the game with 21 shots as Emily Larson led Eau Claire with six shots.
Men's Hockey
UW-Eau Claire 5, Northland College 0
The men's hockey team picked up its fourth straight victory and third straight shutout, defeating Northland College 5-0 at home tonight. Five different Blugolds scored goals while the Blugolds outshot the LumberJacks 61-17. Eau Claire also had just two penalties while Northland had none.
