EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The 2013-14 UW-Eau Claire Athletics season will get underway Friday, August 30 with four teams competing during the opening weekend.

Volleyball and soccer will kick off the new season with road competitions. Soccer will be at Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) at 1 p.m. Friday while volleyball will be at the Saint Benedict Labor Day Tournament in St. Joseph, Minn. for two after noon matches. They will play two more matches Saturday.

Also on Saturday, women’s tennis and women’s golf will open their seasons at home. Women’s tennis will host UW-Stout on campus and women’s golf will kick off its annual two-day Doug Georgianni Memorial Invitational at Mill Run Golf Course. The second day will be contested at Wild Ridge Golf Course.
