EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - Two UW-Eau Claire Athletics teams were in action today, women's hockey at home while men's hockey was on the road.
Men's Hockey
UW-Eau Claire 6, MSOE 1
After a scoreless first period, the men's hockey team scored four straight goals in the second period to take a four-goal lead. MSOE scored 32 seconds into the third period and the Blugolds answered with two goals later in the period to win by five. Eau Claire outshot MSOE 28-15.
Women's Hockey
Bethel University (Minn.) 5, UW-Eau Claire 1
Playing in its final home game for 2013, the women's hockey team fell 5-1 to Bethel University (Minn.) at Hobbs Ice Center tonight. The Blugolds got behind 3-0 after two periods and couldn't recover. Paige Dale scored the Blugolds' lone goal in the third period but Bethel answered with two more to win by four. Bethel outshot the Blugolds 37-23.
