EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - Three UW-Eau Claire Athletics teams were in action today, wrestling and men's basketball at home while women's basketball was on the road.
Men's Basketball
UW-Platteville 71, UW-Eau Claire 56
The men's basketball fell to UW-Platteville 71-56 on Ken Anderson Court in Zorn Arena tonight. The Blugolds trailed by as many as 33 points in the second half but cut the deficit to 15 by the end of the game. Leading the Blugolds in scoring was Kurtis Moody with 12 points.
Women's Basketball
UW-Platteville 72, UW-Eau Claire 66
Down by 22 points in the second half, the women's basketball team worked its way back to within one but couldn't overcome the deficit and fell 72-66 to UW-Platteville on Bo Ryan Court in Williams Fieldhouse tonight. Courtney Lewis led the Blugolds in scoring with 19 points.
Wrestling
UW-Whitewater 39, UW-Eau Claire 6
The wrestling team fell 39-6 to 14th-ranked UW-Whitewater in the McPhee Physical Education Center tonight. Ryan Seidler (149 pounds) and Matthew Laugen (165 pounds) won their matches by decision for Eau Claire.
