Game Day Review - Friday, November 15, 2013

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - Three UW-Eau Claire Athletics teams were in action today, two at home and one on the road.

Women's Hockey

UW-Eau Claire 2, UW-Superior 2 (OT)

Playing in the first conference game of the season, the women's hockey team tied fifth-ranked UW-Superior 2-2 in overtime at Hobbs Ice Center tonight. The Blugolds got on the board first and while Superior scored two in the second period to go up 2-1, the Blugolds scored the game-tying goal in the third period.

Men's Hockey

UW-Eau Claire 6, Hamline University 1

The men's hockey team continued their strong start to the 2013-2014 season with a 6-1 win over Hamline University (Minn.) in their first road game of the season. David Donnellan and Ethan Nauman each scored two goals.

Women's Basketball

Carroll University 65, UW-Eau Claire 49

The women's basketball team got down early and never recovered, falling 65-49 to Carroll University in the season-opener on Ken Anderson Court in Zorn Arena on day one of the Blugolds' Tip-Off Classic. While the Blugolds started off with a lead and held the Pioneers scoreless for the first 50 seconds, a 15-2 run by Carroll put the Blugolds down by 10 (15-5) and the Pioneers never trailed the rest of the night. Teenie Lichtfuss led the game in scoring with 18 points while also coming away with a game-high six assists.
