EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - Two UW-Eau Claire Athletics teams were in action today with women's soccer and volleyball both at home.
Women's Soccer
UW-Eau Claire 9, UW-Superior 0
The women's soccer team scored early and often, defeating UW-Superior 9-0 on a cold evening at Bollinger Field. Kara Ryan got the scoring started just 1:33 into the game on an unassisted goal. Caroline Henderson kicked off a big night for herself in the seventh minute with her first goal of the night. She went on to record a hat trick. The Blugolds outshot the Yellowjackets 37-2, 24-1 on-goal.
Women's Volleyball
UW-Stevens Point 3, UW-Eau Claire 0 (25-22, 25-15, 25-19)
In a contest between the top two teams in the conference standings, the women's volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-22, 25-15, 25-19) to 21st-ranked UW-Stevens Point in the McPhee Physical Education Center tonight. Kelly Schuh led the Blugolds with 11 of the team's 30 kills. It was senior night and also the final regular season home match for the Blugolds.
