EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - Five UW-Eau Claire Athletics teams were in action Friday, three at home and two on the road.

Women's Golf

WIAC Championship - 2nd of 7

After the first of three rounds at the 2013 WIAC Championship, the women's golf team is in second place out of seven teams. With three Blugolds in the top 10, Kate Engler leads the team with 78 strokes, tied for second place.

Women's Cross Country

Blugold Invitational - 6th of 25

Behind strong pack running, the women's cross country team placed sixth out of 25 teams Friday at the Blugold Invitational at the Whitetail Golf Course in Colfax. Alana Jenkins led the Eau Claire pack by placing 42nd with a time of 23:27 over the span of 6,000-meters.

Men's Cross Country

Blugold Invitational - 4th of 26

Six days removed from winning the Roy Griak Invitational for the first time in school history, the men's cross country team returned home to turn in yet another strong performance at the Blugold Invitational, taking fourth place. Ryan Mugan led the charge for the Blugolds, placing ninth with a time of 25:10 over the course of 8,000 meters.

Women's Tennis

UW-Eau Claire 9, UW-Stevens Point 0

In its first conference match since Sept. 14, the women's tennis team picked up a 9-0 victory over UW-Stevens Point today.

Women's Volleyball

UW-Eau Claire 3, UW-Platteville 0 (29-27, 25-17, 25-17)

After falling to UW-La Crosse on Wednesday, the volleyball team bounced back to defeat UW-Platteville 3-0 in Zorn Arena tonight. Holding the Sixth Annual Breast Cancer Awareness and Fundraising Event, the Blugolds hosted the Pioneers in Zorn Arena, the first volleyball match in Zorn since the early 1990's. Kelly Schuh led the match with 12 kills.
