EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - Seven UW-Eau Claire Athletics teams competed Saturday, football at home and the rest on the road. It was also Hall of Fame day and seven new members were inducted into the Blugold Hall of Fame at a banquet Saturday night.

The Blugolds held their annual Hall of Fame banquet Saturday night in Davies Center on campus. They inducted seven new members into the Blugold Hall of Fame while additional awards were distributed during thebanquet.

Women's Cross Country
Roy Griak Invitational - 8th of 29
The women's cross country team finished in eighth place at the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational, hosted by the University of Minnesota at Les Bolstad Golf Course today. Alana Jenkins led the Blugolds on the 6,000-meter course, taking 30th place with a time of 24:13.7.
Men's Cross Country
Roy Griak Invitational - 1st of 26
For the first time ever, the men's cross country team won the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational, hosted by the University of Minnesota at Les Bolstad Golf Course today. The Blugolds, whose previous best finish was second place in 2010, won the event with 69 points. Ryan Mugan led the Blugolds as he took sixth place on the 8,000-meter course out of 296 runners. He finished the event with a time of 26:09.3.
Volleyball
Elmhurst College 3, UW-Eau Claire 1 (25-23, 25-17, 15-25,

UW-Eau Claire 3, Millikin University 0 (25-21, 25-23,
27-25)
The women's volleyball team went 1-1 on the final day of the Washington University Tournament, falling 3-1 to sixth-ranked Elmhurst University (Ill.) and then winning over Millikin University 3-0. Kelly Schuh was named to the All-Tournament Team after leading the Blugolds in kills in both matches.
Football
Pacific Lutheran University vs. UW-Eau Claire
Despite trailing 21-7 at halftime against 10th-ranked Pacific Luther University (Wash.), the football team shut out the Lutes in the second half but came up just short in the end, 21-19, in the Blugolds' home opener at Carson Park today. Joel Sweeney scored all three of the Blugolds touchdowns, the fourth time in his career he reached the end zone three times.
Soccer
UW-Whitewater 2, UW-Eau Claire 0
The Warhawks scored once in each half and the Blugolds were unable to find the back of the net as they fell 2-0 in Whitewater tonight. Eau Claire led the shot total 12-8 but both teams finished with six on-goal.
Men's Golf
The men's golf team is competing at the Gustavus Adolphus Twin Cities Classic this weekend. After round one of the three round event, the Blugolds lead the field of 19 teams. Ben Brooks leads the Blugolds, tied for first with 72 strokes.
Men's Tennis
The men's tennis team is competing at the ITA Tournament in St. Peter, Minn. this weekend. Action got underway Friday and concludes Sunday.
