Blugold Student-Athletes to Participate in The Program's Judgment Day

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – UW-Eau Claire student-athletes will participate in a special event called Judgment Day, a two-day activity developed by The Program, Tuesday and Wednesday this week.

Judgment Day is designed to test the physical and mental strength of participants. Taught by former Division I collegiate athletes and military special operations personnel, the training forces individuals and teams to work together through shared adversity.

Through utilizing The Program’s Judgment Day, Blugolds hope to gain a number of different skills they can use now as well as into the future.

“This opportunity will be life-changing for our student-athletes,” head softball coach and Senior Woman Administrator Leslie Huntington said. “The leadership, mental toughness, and teamwork skills they are going to work on will be the same skills they use to not only secure a great job, but to excel in that job the rest of their lives. These are the fundamental skills that simply can’t be taught and/or facilitated in a traditional classroom setting, and I’m proud to be able to provide our hard-working student-athletes with this unique opportunity.”

The Program offers leadership development and team building training. Based in Woburn, Mass., The Program builds relationships with collegiate, professional and high school teams, along with corporations, by creating customized programs to improve performance. More information about The Program is available at http://www.theprogram.org

Both the UW-Eau Claire Foundation and MET Credit Union were instrumental in helping bring Judgment Day and The Program to campus.
