After the Blugolds upset UW-La Crosse last week, UW-Eau Claire was unable to spoil the UW-Whitewater's perfect season as the offense struggled to get much going on the day as quarterback JT DenHartog (So. – Hopkins, MN) was sacked 11 times.

The Blugold defense started strong in this one forcing a turnover on downs on the Warhawks first possession, but the offense was unable to cash in.

UW-Whitewater got on the board first on a 23-yard field goal from Will Meyer, and followed that up with a 10-yard touchdown run from Drew Patterson.

The Warhawks would add two more Patterson touchdown runs in the second quarter to give them a 24-0 lead.

The Blugolds' offense struggled to get much going until late in the first half as DenHartog hit his favorite target Matt Knapp (Sr. – Eau Claire, WI) for a 59-yard deep ball to cut into the Warhawks' lead. The Blugolds following two-point conversion was unsuccessful.

UW-Whitewater would add a 32-yard field goal from Meyer at the end of the second half as the Blugolds went into the locker room down 27-6.

The Warhawks hit a home run on the first play of the second half as wide receiver Marcus Hudson took a reverse 73 yards to the end zone to extend the Warhawks' lead to 34-6 just 19 seconds into the half.

UW-Whitewater would add two more touchdowns in the third quarter to earn the 48-6 victory.

The Blugolds (2-6) will get ready head to Platteville next week to take on the No. 11 Pioneers on Saturday. Kick-off will be at 1:00 p.m.
