EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire football team has announced their 2016 season schedule under new head coach Dan Larson featuring 10 games with five each on the road and at home.

The Blugolds will begin their 2016 campaign at Carson Park matched up with the St. Thomas Tommies for the second consecutive season who lost the 2015 DIII National Championship game 49-35 to Mount Union (Ohio) this past December.

The other two non-conference opponents the Blugolds will face are Concordia-Moorhead and Wisconsin Lutheran with both games coming on the road. This will be the first ever meeting between the Blugolds and the Warriors of Wisconsin Lutheran.

UW-Eau Claire will take the field on Oct. 1 for the 2016 Homecoming game against UW-Stevens Point to open WIAC conference play at 1:00 p.m.

The 2016 edition of the "War on I-94" rivalry with UW-Stout will take place Oct. 15 in Menominee. The Blugolds have won three of the last five meetings with the Blue Devils and still hold a 51-36-6 lead overall.

Senior Day for UW-Eau Claire will take place on Nov. 12 in the season finale against UW-Oshkosh
