SALEM, Va. (Blugolds.com) – UW-Eau Claire football player Paul Santi (Sr.-Kingsford, Mich.) has been honorably mentioned on the 2013 D3football.com All-American Team, D3football.com officials announced today.
Santi, the Blugolds' center, started all 40 games in his career. He earned first team D3football.com All-West Region honors this season after being named to the All-WIAC first team. Previously, he was named to the All-WIAC second team in 2011 and 2012.
Santi becomes just the fifth Blugold in history named a D3football.com All-American and is the first since 2007. He is the second Blugold offensive player to be selected as an All-American, joining offensive lineman Bob Schmidt, who was selected to the second team in 2001 after being honorably mentioned in 2000.
