THE SERIES
The Blugolds and Pointers have previously met 80 times and the Pointers lead the series 42-33-5. Eau Claire won the last meeting, 17-14 last year in Stevens Point. The teams first met on Oct. 18, 1919 in Eau Claire and the Blugolds won 6-0. View Series Info
HOMECOMING
This weekend marks the 88th time the Blugolds have played a Homecoming game. All-time on Homecoming, the Blugolds are 53-26-8 winning the most recent game 21-13 over UW-Stout last year. Since 2004, the Blugolds hold an 8-1 record. Against the Pointers, the Blugolds won the most recent game, 20-13 in overtime on Oct. 2, 2010, and are 4-6-1 all-time against the Pointers on Homecoming.
LAST SEASON
Trailing 7-0 at halftime, the Blugolds scored 17 second-half points to defeat Stevens Point 17-14 at Goerke Park in Stevens Point on Oct. 20, 2012. Eau Claire finished with 415 yards of total offense, a season-high, while giving up just 300, the second lowest total in 2012.
