Primary Sport Coverage: Tennis, Wrestling, Softball

Shyla Cummings is serving her first year as an athletic training intern with UW-Eau Claire athletics. Cummings completed her education at Northern Michigan University (NMU), Marquette Michigan where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training. Cummings is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association as well as the Great Lakes Athletic Trainer’s Association. 

While at NMU, Cummings worked as a student athletic trainer with the Men’s Hockey Team, Women’s Volleyball Team, and spring sports at Marquette High School. Cummings’ gained additional experience through an internship with Divine Savior Hospital’s Rehabilitation Department and as a student athlete for the NMU Women’s Lacrosse team. 

Cummings’ intends to pursue a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology or Exercise Science when finished with her internship. 

In her free time Cummings enjoys outdoors activities, working out and time with her pets.
