Blugolds 10th in December Director's Cup Standings

CLEVELAND, Ohio (Blugolds.com) – In the second set of fall Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Blugolds are 10th with a total of 208.50 points for the fall season.

The Blugolds were led by the men’s cross country team’s national championship while the women’s cross country squad finished 16th and volleyball was 17th.

Washington-St. Louis currently leads Division III with 337.50 points while Calvin is second with 315.

Also representing the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse is currently 16th while University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh is 20th.

The Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today.  Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 14 sports in Division II – seven men’s and seven women’s; and 18 sports in Division III-- nine women’s and nine men’s.
