Kussow, Pinewski, Stange Named to All-WIAC Women's Soccer Team

MADISON, Wis. (blugolds.com) — Three members of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's soccer squad were named to the All-WIAC team on Wednesday. Defender Kiki Kussow (Sr. - Green Bay, Wis./Notre Dame), midfielder/forward Elise Pinewski (So. - Anoka, Minn.) and midfielder Emma Stange (Sr. - Andover, Minn./Anoka) were all recognized with a spot on the team.

Kussow and Stange earned All-WIAC honors for the third consecutive season, while this is Pinewski's first appearance on the all-conference team. Kussow led the Blugolds' defense which has held opponents to an average of 0.85 goals per game. Kussow also has an assist this year. The Blugolds have eight shutouts to their credit so far this year.

Stange is third on the team with 17 points this year. The senior has scored five times — two of which were game winners — and passed seven assists. Pinewski is tied for the team lead with 18 points this season. She ranks second on the team with eight goals and has also tallied two assists. Three of her goals were game winners.

Additionally, Megan Hansen (Sr. - Andover, Minn./Anoka) was named to the All-Sportsmanship team.

The Blugolds face UW-Whitewater in the WIAC Tournament semifinals on Thursday, November 3, in Whitewater. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
