3 Blugolds named Kwik Trip WIAC Athlete of the Week

MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Austin Belot, (Jr.—Neenah, WI), Dylan Glumac-Berberich,( Sr.--Fridley, Minn.), and Taylor Scalia, (Jr.—Lake Elmo, MN/Stillwater), have been named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week, as was announced by Assistant Commissioner of Media Relations Matt Stanek.

Belot rushed for a career-high 223 yards on 30 carries (7.4 per carry) in a 27-14 homecoming win over UW-River Falls on Oct. 12. He scored a pair of touchdowns, including a 51-yard run late in the third quarter to give the Blugolds a 24-14 lead. Belot leads the WIAC in rushing, averaging 144.2 yards per game (6.2 per carry) and has eight touchdowns.

Glumac-Berberich won both one-meter diving and three-meter diving to help the Blugolds defeat UW- Oshkosh 170-71 on Oct. 12, and earned an NCAA zone cut on both boards. He also broke the school record on three-meter event with a score of 355.20. Glumac-Berberich has the top score in the conference, as well the top score in the country.

 

Scalia played in all 13 sets for the Blugolds during the week and recorded 83 digs in three matches, including a career-high 34 against Elmhurst College (Ill.). Scalia also tallied eight assists on the week as the Blugolds went 2-1 with victories over Elmhurst and North Central College (Ill.). She had 27 digs against UW-Stout and 22 against North Central.
