MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's soccer goalie Anna Svieven (Blaine,MN/ Cetennial) has been named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Athlete of the Week, as was announced by Assistant Commissioner of Media Relations Matt Stanek.

Sveiven tallied 12 saves in a 1-0 win over St. Catherine University (Minn.), including a fingertip save over the cross bar in the later stages of the second half to secure UW-Eau Claire's first shutout victory of the year. The Blugolds went 1-1 on the week, including a 2-0 loss to Augsburg University (Minn.) that featured eight saves by Sveiven.
