CLEVELAND, Ohio (blugolds.com) – In the first set of fall Learfield Directors' Cup standings, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire is ranked fourth overall with 229 points.

The Blugolds tallied 80 points in women's cross country with a fourth place finish at the NCAA Championship meet while the men's squad earned 66 points with an 11th place finish. The volleyball team scored the most points (83) for UW-Eau Claire with a third place finish at the national tournament, their highest finish in program history.

Eau Claire is currently the highest ranked school in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC), with UW-La Crosse following in 10th, UW-Stout 66th and UW-Whitewater 68th.

The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today.  Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships.  

The next Division III fall standings will be released Thursday, December 6.
