Blugolds finish 19th in Directors' Cup standings

CLEVELAND (blugolds.com) – The final Learfield Directors' Cup standings were released Thursday, with the Blugolds finishing in 19th place.

UW-Eau Claire finished with 592.75 total points after the men's track and field team tallied 90 points with their second place finish at the NCAA Championships.

Other Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) schools in the top 25 are UW-Whitewater (8th), UW-La Crosse (10th) and UW-Oshkosh (17th).

Williams won the overall title 1,098.25 points with Washington-St. Louis is second with 1013.

The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today.  Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 14 sports in Division II – seven men's and seven women's; and 18 sports in Division III-- nine women's and nine men's.
