Blugolds 8th in Winter Director Cup Standings

In the final set of winter Learfield Directors' Cup standings, the Blugolds remain in the top 10 and lead the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference(WIAC) as they are currently in eighth place.

UW-Eau Claire has 492.75 total points after the women's swimming and diving team finished 11that the national championships.

Other WIAC schools in the top 25 are  UW-Whitewater (12th), UW-La Crosse (13th), UW-Oshkosh (14th) and UW-Stevens Point (23th).

Williams remains in first with 743.25 points with Washington-St. Louis is second with 707.00.

The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today.  Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 14 sports in Division II – seven men's and seven women's; and 18 sports in Division III-- nine women's and nine men's. The next Division II & III winter standings will be released Thursday, March 31.

Standings published midseason are unofficial.  Official standings will be published upon the completion of the spring season. Complete standings and the scoring structure can be found on NACDA's website at www.directorscup.org.
