Goetsch Earns WIAC Athlete of the Week Honors

MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - UW-Eau Claire's football kicking and punting specialist Brad Goetsch (Schofield, Wis./D.C. Everest) has been named a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Athlete of the Week, WIAC Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations Matt Stanek announced today.

Goetsch recorded three field goals in the Blugolds’ 30-23 double overtime win over St. Norbert College (Wis.) on Sept. 8. He scored UW-Eau Claire’s first nine points, hitting twice from 35-yards in the first quarter and adding a 22-yard field goal in the second quarter. Goetsch also tallied nine punts for 309 yards with an average of 34.3 yards per punt, connected on all three PAT’s, recorded five kick-offs for 279 yards (56 yards per kickoff), and helped UW-Eau Claire to a 2-0 start to the season for the first time since the 2010 campaign.
