MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's indoor track and field thrower David Kornack, Senior (Edgar, Wis.) has been named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Athlete of the Week, it was announced today by Assistant Commissioner of Media Relations Matt Stanek.

Kornack won the shot put at the UW-Oshkosh Titan Challenge on Feb. 16 with a toss of 61-9 1/2 (18.83m). His throw leads the WIAC and is first in NCAA Division III. Kornack’s throw is 1.34m farther than the second-best throw in the country. The Eau Claire men finished third at the Oshkosh Titan Challenge and will compete at the WIAC Championships on Friday and Saturday Feb. 22 and 23rd.
