MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's wrestler Thomas Severson (Marathon,Wis./D.C. Everest)has been named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Athletes of the Week, it was announced today by Assistant Commissioner of Media Relations Matt Stanek.

Severson had a strong week for the Blugolds, earning two wins at 133 pounds. In the Blugolds’ dual against UW-Whitewater on Dec. 5, he won by fall (2:54) against Blake Huffman. He earned another win on December 7 in UW-Eau Claire’s dual with UW-Platteville. Serverson won by a 15-3 major decision over two-time NCAA qualifier Scott Arneson.
