Hoeppner Named WIAC Athlete of the Week

MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire women’s basketball player Hallee Hoeppner (Winona, Minn.) was named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Athlete of the Week as announced by Assistant Commissioner of Media Relations, Matt Stanek.

Hoeppner averaged 22.0 points and 10.0 rebounds as UW-Eau Claire defeated Ripon College (Wis.), 68-46, and College of St. Scholastica (Minn.), 88-69. In the two games, Hoeppner totaled 44 points by converting 15-of-26 (57 percent) shots from the field and 10-of-14 (71.4 percent) free throws; she also made 4-of-6 (66 percent) three-point shots, while compiling 20 rebounds, two blocks and two steals. In UW-Eau Claire’s home win over Ripon on Nov. 16, Hoeppner counted 15 points, 9 rebounds and one block in 37 minutes of action. In the Blugolds’ victory over St. Scholastica on Nov. 17, she tallied a career high 29 points, 11 rebounds, two steals and one block in 36 minutes of activity.

Hoeppner and the women's basketball will travel with the Eau Claire men's basketball team to Minn.-Morris on Nov. 24 for a double header. The women tipping off at 2:00pm and the men to follow.
