Brookshaw and Krantz Named WIAC Athletes of the Week

MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – UW-Eau Claires' defensive lineman Charlie Brookshaw (Prescott,Wis.) and men's diver Noah Krantz (Waunakee, Wis. / Middleton) have each been named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Athlete of the Week, WIAC Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations Matt Stanek announced today.

Brookshaw led the Blugold defense with six solo tackles, one sack and two tackles for losses in UW-Eau Claire’s 20-14 victory over UW-Oshkosh on Nov. 3. His sack came on a key second down play with 1:25 left on the clock in the fourth quarter helping to seal the victory. Brookshaw and the Blugold defense were dominant the entire game, holding the Titans to 1-for-11 on third down conversions and to 160 total yards of offense. The win is Eau Claire's fourth of the season, their most since winning four games in 2012. The Blugolds (4-5, 2-4 WIAC) will host the UW-La Crosse Eagles (6-3, 4-2 WIAC) in the regular season finale next Saturday at 2:35 PM.

Krantz was second on both one-meter and three-meter diving events in the Blugolds’ 129-104 win over UW-La Crosse on Nov. 3. The sophomore finished with a total score of 195.10 in the three-meter event, and a total of 209.15 in the one-meter event. The men's swim and dive team is now 3-1 in dual meets, and will compete at the St. Thomas Invite on November 9th and 10th.
