Haugenoe Named WIAC Athlete of the Week

MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) -UW-Eau Claire’s hockey player, Camden Haugenoe (Williston, ND), was named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Athlete of the Week, as announced by WIAC Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations Matt Stanek earlier today.

Haugenoe had two strong performances to help the No. 13-ranked Blugolds to a pair of wins. Against Bethel University (Minn.) on Nov. 3, Haugenoe saved 30 of 32 shots in a 6-2 win. He had his first career shutout in the Blugolds’ 7-0 victory over Hamline University (Minn.) on Nov. 4. The first year goalie made his fourth consecutive start and stopped all 16 shots he faced. Haugenoe is now 3-1 on the season with a .935 save percentage.

The men's hockey team will be on the road this weekend as they travel to St. Paul, MN to take on St. Thomas on Thursday Nov. 9, and then will face Saint Mary's in Winona, MN on Saturday Nov. 11.
