MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) -UW-Eau Claire women's gymnast Kiya Bjorge (Kennewick, Wash./Southridge) has been named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Athlete of the Week, WIAC Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations Matt Stanek announced today.

After being sideline most of the pre-season with a knee injury, Bjorge won both events she competed in and helped the Blugolds to a 181.275-175.800 victory over Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) on Jan. 6. She won the floor exercise, recording a 9.275, and then went on to take first in the balance beam with a score of 9.575.

On January 12 the women's gymnastics team will welcome back their alumni and will host youth night and team night as they take on UW-Whitewater at 6:00pm in the McPhee Center.
