Berry Earns WIAC Athlete of the Week Honors

MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's women's tennis player Kendra Berry has benn named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Athletes of the Week, it was announced today by Assistant Commissioner of Media Relations Matt Stanek.

Kendra Berry  (Duluth, Minn. /East) started out her 2017-18 campaign in singles play 4-0. She earned her first win on September 1, defeating Monica Micoliczyk of UW-Oshkosh 6-3, 6-1. On Sept. 2, Berry was the No. 3-draw champion for the second straight year at the UW-Whitewater Invite. She earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory in the first round over Claire Pardrnos of Grinnell College (Iowa) and then advanced to the championship round with a win over Meg Chadick of Augustana College (Ill.). Berry defeated UW-Whitewater’s Kassie Alexander in the championship match 6-4, 6-0.

The women's tennis team will host UW-Sout and Saint Benedict (Minn.) on Sept. 9 at 9:00 am and 3:00pm, respectively.
