Tyler Green Named WIAC Player of the Week

MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) -UW-Eau Claire’s hockey player, Tyler Green (Sr.-Novlesville, Ind.), was named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Athlete of the Week, as announced by WIAC Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations Matt Stanek earlier today.

 The goalie had his first shutout of the season in the Blugolds’ win over Lawrence University (Wis.) on Sat, Nov 28. He stopped 19 shots in the 7-0 victory. The seniors’ performance also earned him a spot on the Thanksgiving Showdown All-Tournament Team. The win gave Green his third win of the year, improving his record in goal to 3-1-1. Green has started 5 games so far this year, racking up 119 total saves, bringing his overall save percentage to .944.

The Blugolds will be back in action to open conference play this Thursday at UW-Stout at 7:30 p.m. before returning to Hobbs Ice Arena for a Saturday matchup at home with UW-River Falls at 7 p.m.
