Schaller Named WIAC Softball Player of the Week

MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - UW-Eau Claire softball shortstop Evie Schaller (Jr. Chippewa Falls, Wis.) was named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Softball Position Player of the Week, as announced by Assistant Commissioner of Media Relations Matt Stanek.

Schaller started her career as a Blugold on a seven-game hitting streak, leading the Blugolds to a 6-2 record at the Tucson Games during the week. The junior transfer hit an impressive .583 (14-for-24) along with 12 RBI and three runs scored. Schaller tallied two doubles and one round-tripper, finishing the week with a .792 slugging percentage and .615 on-base percentage. 

The Blugolds are finishing up their spring break trip to Arizona, and will return home to face St. Catherine on March 31.
