MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's ice hockey defenseman Preston Hodge was named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Athletes of the Week, it was announced today by Assistant Commissioner of Media Relations Matt Stanek.

Hodge opened up his season with two goals and one assist in the Blugolds’ 5-1 win against Lawrence University (Wis.). He then added another goal and an assist as the Blugolds scored 10 goals against Aurora University (Ill.) on Oct. 31. Hodge has five points, two assists and three goals on five shots in his first two games of the season.

The Blugolds return to action tonight in their home opener against Saint Mary's (Minn) at Hobbs Ice Arena at 7pm.
